Wierd sound!!!
Past few days I've been noticing a whining sound coming from the engine bay. I have no idea what it is. When in gear and I drive I hear it. When in neutral I rev it, I hear it. I have no idea where this sound is coming from. My crx drives fine with no problems. Does anyone know what it might be or can point me to the right direction? TIA!
When my tranny was running low in fluid, I ran it for about an an hour and 1/2 on the interstate.... I'm messed up, I know. But during my rebuild, the bearings sounded like skateboard bearings (if you've ever heard them). It was bad. But I learned my lesson.
Mine was mainly in 5th, I really noticed it just cruising through town after the interstate run; only going about 40 or so. WWHHHHIIIIRRRRR. Put some more fluid in there, or get some new bearings. Heh. Or maybe later a new transmission... It may not be your problem but just giving my .02. I'd definitely look into it.

How come the guy at the parts store told me 10w 30 motor oil for my tranny fluid? Does this mean I possibly fuc*ed something up?

the parts guys always say use normal motor oil for trannies in our cars (idiots).
if the noise happened right after a fluid change thats most likely the problem. Go buy some GM synchromesh (local gm dealer). This stuff is great !

10w30 is the right oil to use in your tranny, so don't worry about that. you might want to run honda mtf or something better if your tranny is making noise. i personally run the redline shockproof lightweight. that stuff is awesome (pics to come one day)!

10w 30 is correct per the service manual.

hey guys, I just took a peak under the hood. It seems as though when I rev the motor its coming from the pulleys. Maybe its time for a belt change? Sounds more like its coming from the altenator.

Yup- that's what I thought, either tranny or a belt. Just do a quick belt change & you should be good to go.
