I know its been asked and I searched but I couldn't find a how-to.
Anybody have a site on a how to
I know it can take days and maybe a few, lol I want to save money and do the install myself, since the mechanic will charge wonders
thanks
BTW its on a stock 89 civic dx 5spd

i think its a piece of cake if u have the right tools. jack stands,a good jack and a helms manual are a must. i put an act in my si in like half a day... and i am by no means pro.
With the motor out I can do a clutch in about 30 min tops, the hard/long part is undoing the tranny mounts, tranny bolts and pulling it off. The clutch is cake. Grab a helms for the install.
i would like to know also!! im not a realy DIY person...where do you get one of those HELMS book...can a CHILTON book work the same as a HELM?? can i still do it at my garage even thou i dont have any power tool (compressor)?
Yeah it is pretty straightfoward....dont bother looking for a how-to just buy a Haynes. After your first time youll learn some shortcuts(the radius rod can stay in)
Make sure you pull the tranny straight off and put it back on dead straight so you dont fubar the input shaft. It will have to be exactly aligned then it will slide right on. Dont force it. Oh yeah definitely get your flywheel resurfaced if you plan on spinning second and third.
EDIT: D15b2's have a hard time spinning second anyways

personally i think the extra money spent on a helms manual is well worth it, i have had chiltons and haynes and the helms is WAY better.
i would look on ebay i have seen them there all the time. for more info on gettin your hands on one send me a PM. or email me.

People have the .pdf out there for the helms but I prefer having the actual book. http://www.helminc.com theyre about $50, comes in 2 volumes, like 300 pages or so....invaluable book.
