How much am I lookin to spend to install a JDM Front end on my teg?
Ok I plan on getting a JDM ITR Front end for my 2001 GSR in the near future. And I want to see what pricing looks like for installation. So all you guys out there with JDM front ends I would appreciate if you can tell me what the body shop charged you for your installation. And if you got anything extra like shaving modlings and stuff, include that also.
Here's what I wanna do:
-I wanna get my front end installed.
-Have my side moldings shaved.
-Have my badges shaved.
-Have my trunk shaved to go wingless. (still haven't 100% decided on that yet tho.)
-paint match my oem sideskirts.
-Have my rear washer nozzle on top of the roof shaved.

A lot
I got all of that done too along with a color change. Every place is gonna be different. I paid more because I got a color change too but just think....your parts alone are gonna cost around 2k..then you have installation which is another 400 and then all of the shaving is gonna cost maybe 600(???). You might as well get a color change while your at it cuz they are gonna have to repaint most of the car.
Just my 2cents.

Well what you stated is actually a surprise to me because I was actually thinkin it would cost more for the body work that is required. Also I would do a colorchange but it would cost alot more than you think, because you would have to repaint the doorjams, engine bay, etc. I just wanna leave my car milano red to save money. And if anything I'll just have them repaint the whole outside of the car only. I think Milano red tegs with a JDM front end look HOT anyway!

yea, just keep in mind that every place is different though. You might find places that charge more then what I paid and places that charge less then what I pay. I was just trying to give you a ball park guess and I will openly admit that my figures may be a little off. My estimate for installation is just the welding and piecing things together. I'm not including painting. For it to be painted and welded in then you might be looking at close to a grand.

repaint the whole car, color match wont fade right over time if you plan to keep your car for a while. thats my 2 cents. i had my 00 gsr milano red when i bought it new, just had the jdm conversion done this week. and repainting stock color. looks great.

Yea like he said, places vary. I've read posts of people paying close to 5,000 for a jdm front end. Do your homework in your area.

I bought a used JDM conversion w/ oem hid housing from ICRoger. $2600 plus $200 shipping. I installed it myself
So my cost was as follows:
JDM conversion $2800
Welder Rental $30
Paint and body work $1600
Total $4430
I got my front end, sideskirts and rear valences painted all at the same time by the most reputable shop here in gainesville. I could have gotten it painted for cheaper, but im glad i spent the extra money, the color matched perfectly, the front end looked brand new, you couldnt tell it was used.

also remember when you paint your front end have them blend the color to the doors and rear panels as well. It matches a lot better.
