Love to hear some of your numbers on built b16s, I gonna be doing a ls crank witch custom forged rods for the stroker, Darton Sleeves, Arp Head studs, 9:1 forged pistons, full deal. Just looking for others numbers. Im running a drag kit right now and trying to get a rough idea of what kind of power Id be pushing tuned at like 18 psi and what kind of torque? wanna see your numbers

are you sure thats safe for running like 18-20psi? ANyone out there running 10:1 with 18 or so psi? What kind of Results are we talking for the same motor with the only diff being the CR in the pistons and same boost?

MotorMatrix is that on a b16? How much power should a built b16 on 10:1 and 18psi make if its tuned right? You think I can hit like 450?

no thats an h22. regardless of the motor though, it can be done on a b16. an 84mm b16 with 10:1 compression and the right turbo can make 450-500 by 18psi

If it's a pump gas car, primarily, go with 9:1. If you don't mind throwing C16 in it if you want to run 20+ PSI, go with 10:1.

nice, where do you get the full race manifold and how much is it roughly? Does that help with spool up?

full race equal length manifold is 1150.00. yes they flow very well and provide great spoolup. here are some pics>>>

wow I had no idea that they were that much, Maybe I see if I can find a little bit cheaper of an equal length manifold to try and get the most out of this b16.

10:1, 81mm, 21 psi = 426whp on clayton dyno.
(whp would be higher on a dynojet)

This is my daily driver btw.

all you need is a precision turbo and you would be at
10:1, 81mm, 21 psi = 559+whp on clayton dyno.

I tuned a B18C4 yesterday with a drag kit and hondata. It made 344whp at 15psi on a bone stock motor. I know the kit could've done over 400 with more boost and race gas, but 15psi on 93 octane and 10.4:1 compression is about is far as i want to push it!

yeah, on the stock bore b16 i would 9.8 or 10:1. youll make really good power by 20psi. i would say by 20psi you should make 475-500 for sure. there are other factors like mgmt, fuel system etc.. but with that turbo and motor setup its possible.

It's the european gsr motor. From what i've been told, and i don't know how true this is, honda gives the blocks with the better casting a higher designation as far as engine code. Hence the C1,2,3,4,5,6. I don't understand why different countries would get the different models though. There is something better about the c4 though. A while back, i'm sure most of you read it, there was an interview with the head guy from Spoon and he said the c4 is the best gsr motor. I think there is something to it. This car had been running on an untuned hondata for 1 year. He's got a shitty manifold that boost creeps BAD! He has no choice but to run 15psi! He brought it in and said it's been popping at about 7k. I'm like, ok, let's look at your map. I downloaded the map from his chip and there was 2 degrees of timing retard at 12psi, that's 28.5 degrees of advance on a 10.6:1 (something like that) at 12-15psi. I brought that back down before i even made a pass. Top that off with the first pull with an a/f ratio of 14.5:1 under full boost! This car ran for a year this way w/o blowing up so that really makes me wonder! I still can not believe that motor held together!

that is interesting, although i DO know that certain b18c5 blocks are total garbage. Coolant leaking out the front, and various other problems...

Really? I've never heard that. Was it just a certain batch or something? What exactly was happening with them?
