"My monster block idea" ---> what do you all think? Dart (Patent pending, no stealing ideas haha
Whats up everybody? Just curious what everyone thinks of dart blocks? Good for the $$? They sound pretty bad ***- better cooling and oiling paths but still retains stock oil pan and fitment Well anyway, im looking to build something pretty nutz in the next 6-7 months. (I start a new mechanic job this august -- $$) Anywhoe here is my idea (which has already probobly been done) , i want to run a (Dart) B20 long deck matched up with my gsr head. I want to stroke the block even more-- not sure what the max litre i can have the sleeves/walls bored out to??? Im not sure what compression i want yet, but im looking at the weisco high-swirl series for pistons. Of course i want everything heat treated with some type of ceramic coating. They dont make them for the b20 or any stroked motors, but im sure custom apps are available. As for rods, im not sure- maybe the x-beams?? ...something bomb-proof. I believe dart blocks are either eagle sleeved or darton sleeved?? I would like it to be a closed deck to handle massive amouts of boost!!! I would run a golden eagle lightweight crank, polished, and of course everything blueprinted and balanced. As for the ratios- this is my main concern... Loosing HP is very easy when experimental.
As for the head im going to go crower titanium springs and retainers with ferrea valves. Not sure about P&P, dosent really do **** on turbo cars. I might have the valves opened up a few mm's though. At least on the exhaust side of things anyway- to spool up the massive turbo I dont have yet. Well, for now ill just be sporting my 15psi. On my stock gsr block. Tell me if im crazy.. cause most think i am.

agreed. My theory is keep it simple if you dont have unlimited funds which it doesnt sound like you do since you are starting a new job. when you get into a completely custom longblock that has never been proven or tried before the car will probably sit in the garage more than it will run on the street.what you should really do is this. get the dart b18 block if you can afford the block, stock balanced crank, stock stroke rods,cp pistons, light p&P head with ferrea valvetrain, precision turbo, nice size intercooler, proper fuel system and engine mgmt and 30psi of boost and 700+whp. you dont need anything but off the shelf parts to make 700whp period!!

No need to make things complicated that dont need to be. Remember this is a street car not a race car. Mototmatrix is right you can make tons of power and proven off the shelf parts.

You do know that stroking has nothing to do with boring right?

Than what is it Swift? I guess you all are right... More $$ more problems, right? ...Thats the last time i smoke a joint and go onto honda tech with my wacked out ideas... I just read it again, and damn what the hell was i thinking? There woul be far too much hp for me to even get traction. It would be heavy int the front though with the weight from the b20, so i guess that could be an advantaqge. Also, I woud have awsome tourqe untill the boost builds, with that 2.4 litre (bored b20). Oh well, maybe one day... *wishfull thinking*

I used to get these ideas when I smoked chronic 10 years back. Except it had to do with growing trees taller then my house and using some ***** Wonka additive **** that got the neighbor 2 doors downs smoked up from second hand smoke

HAHA. hilarious.
the guys above are right. Keep it simple, you can make plenty of power on off the shelf parts no need to make things harder then they need to be. I have seen people try to go the route that no one has traveled and they rarely ever get down it. Best thing to do is take an already proven set up and improve on it one part @ a time. good luck
