Default 2inch intercooler piping will it flow 300whp? D-series engine

I already have some nice 2 inch piping made up with my existing setup but am unsure if it will flow 300whp. I remember being told by a tuner that 300HP was about the limit for 2 inch piping. Does anyone have real world knowledge on this?

Your sure? What are the limits of 2inch piping do you know?

Thanks for the reply

I did the calculation when I was buying my piping and it tops out right around 300hp. I would say to go with it before the intercooler, but at some point before the intake manifold switch up to 2.5" so it's not a DRASTIC transition to the throttlebody...

So your saying I could use the 2in piping I have before the intercooler and untill once its straightens up after the intercooler, then
weld on some 2.5in piping. That maybe reasonably easy to do.

actually just use 2 1/2 rite after the intercooler, reason of using 2 inch b4 the intercooler.. is to speed up the compressed air

2"inlet/2.25 outlet, 2.5 into throttle body here, check sig for power.

The bend on the out let of the intercooler will be tricky to remanufacture the intercooler itself has only 1 3/4in openings anyways. So it will be easiest to add the 2.5inch piping once its straightened out.. This should work shouldn't it?

I still would like a conclusive answer as to whether or not I HAVE to change my original 2in piping!!! To make 300whp .

I'm not positive but i think the 2inch piping will hold up to 300whp. Just my opinion, no facts.

Why the **** would you want to speed up the compressed air?

Do you run a half-inch exhaust too, to speed up the exhaust gasses?

damn dude chill.

use the same size piping as the intercooler is equipped with, or slightly larger. (2" is just fine)

Thanks guys so 2inch should be fine. I think I will try and see anyone think the 1,3/4inch intercooler inlet and outlets are going to cause problems? The intercooler is off a Mitsibishi Galant Vr4 I think starion inetrcoolers are similar??

Don't use the GVR-4 intercoolers, they are not good at all.

The Starion IC's are also not too great, but they are better than the GVR-4 ones.

Get a muffler shop or a welding shop to cut the inlet and outlet off, and give them some bigger pipe to weld on.

Maybe we talking about different intercoolers, the one I am talking about is pretty good, looks much like the intercoolers people get with there kits. I mean it works fine for the 200whp I am making at the moment!<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kpt4321 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Don't use the GVR-4 intercoolers, they are not good at all.

This is a Vr4 intercooler I am pretty sure except it has bigger inlet/outlets welded on stock they have 1 3/4in. I am wondering if this will flow 300whp with the original 1 3/4in inlet/outlets Pic stolen from http://www.thezcresource.com I hope Bryson doesn't mind..

Thanks for the reply's I think the starion intercooler should work well enough but I am a little worried about the 1 3/4in inlet/outlets. I am broke as hell and don't want to change them if I don't have to, but I do want 300whp . What do you think will the stock starion intercooler flow that much.

you must be a big idiot....not every1 runs a massive turbo that can fill up the piping b4 the intercooler....so b4 you talk , ask some1 properly why they would do that.. its a basic phyisics law.. you try to blow into a 2 inch piping and feel the other end of it you have no air pressure.. compared to you blowing into a straw and see whats the difference in air velocity...now whos the stupid ****
