So my set of C8s came in last night, gunmetal with a polished lip. I took them to Discount this morning for tires and got home and noticed that the center where the cap goes, the powercoating had chipped off on all four. Now Discount Tires is going to replace all four of these, but my question is has this happened to anyone else. Also should I go a head and jsut get them to get me a set of Silver finish so I wont' have to worrie about this and or rock chipping.

So what do you guys think?

 

It's paint dude...Paint chips. You wish they powdercoated them...

I don't think any aftermarket wheel is powdercoated...It's just too expensive and time consuming to be cost efficient.

 

I forgot to add...The machine they put the wheels on to mount the tires, it scrathces the wheels very easily. You have to remind them several times not to scratch your wheels...Some places have special machines made out of plastic that are better at not scratching.

To make you feel better even after having my wheels powdercoated, they managed to chip my wheels with the machine. Always in the center. I watched him do it, and when they slide the wheel on the spindle of the machine, he was literally throwing it on there which was causing the chipping. They just need to be careful and take their time, and it should be fine.

 

yea the **** told me about the little plactic guard after they did it. Bitches i tell you, bitches. Anyway these "bitches" are buying me new ones.

 

Make sure the bitches use that plastic guard too.

 

ive painted all my wheels and have never had a problem with chips. use autozone rim paint. spraycan style 6 bucks.

 

yup same **** happend to me with my powdercoated ss went to get the tires put back on and they just threw the rims up there and chiped the centers i don't mind though, the thing that pisses me off though is that the smog shop curbed the **** out of my rims and now its all fucked up and they wouldn't pay for them. bullshit.

 

the valet curb the **** out of my rims the second day i got em - none the less the replaced them within a week - made me so mad.

Fire bomb there building, seriously vandalize that ****! If they refuse to pay you might find a lawyer friend to write you a letter to give to them. Usually a threating letter is all u need to get some response.
