Default Turbo Newbie, possibly entering the dark side...

Okay guys, I was ideally looking for a JRSC for my 97 Coupe, but it seems I will be able to piece together a turbo cheaper. This is what I will have today:

greddy turbo manifold, turbo (in need of rebuild), stainless braided oil pick up line, turbo timer, greddy fcu "blue box", side mount intercooler and miscellaneous piping.

I'm going to pick up an HKS SSQ BOV and a Turbo rebuild kit. What else do I need to get? Will the blue box work on my car?, it's a 97 HX coupe with a 99 D16Y8 and 98 ECU. I also already have a Hondata S100 uninstalled, I am planning on getting a P28 and jumper harness to have the hondata installed and add the boost option.

you will also need 330 cc injectors to work that blue box.

EDIT.
throw the blue box away and get the boost option on your s100 unlocked.

If i did use the blue box, would it just plug in? or do i need the p28 to use the blue box?

And if I get my hondata done, is that pretty much it? Nothing else to do? Can I drive it? lol

Okay just found out all I picked up was...

greddy turbo manifold, turbo (in need of rebuild), stainless braided oil pick up line, greddy fcu "blue box", side mount intercooler and one charge pipe.

The turbo has the wastegate...I know I need a blow off valve, boost controller, downpipe, charge piping, and maybe a better intercooler.

Now reading in the forum I see some guys run a FMU and VAFC and a missing link(?). But when they go Hondata they no longer need these. Why? So is the FMU, missing link and VAFC only used if you dont have proper computer management or in place of it?

So does that mean if i get my hondata installed with boost option, I wont need any of these items?

I really need to know as I have my cash in hand and only really get one shot at setting this up for now, I can always upgrade later.

don't need fmu when you use afc hack. depends on what you are looking to do, you might need a better fuel pump and bigger injectors
