Default Factory Key Gone Bad?

Well my key is crap now. It goes into the ignition but won't turn at all. I try to turn it left and right but it just stays stuck. Kinda like when you have to turn the wheel and it'll finally turn to turn on the ignition, but it just won't turn at all now.

It looks worn out when I compare it to my dad's key for my car. One of the ridges is worn down pretty nicely, and pretty much gone. I was wondering if Acura would warranty the key since the rest of the car is still under warranty. I can't just go and duplicate the key at K-Mart or something (2000 GS-R) or else I would.

Anyone had this problem? How much would a new key cost if they don't replace it via warranty?

well i dunno where ur from but....i bought my integra gsr and it came with only 1 key....so made another copy by going to the acura dealer.....just go to an acura dealer with the registration or whatevers and tell them u need a new key and they make it for you....i only paid 2bucks for it for 2.50....but the most u will for it is probably 5 bucks...i went to acura and they charged me around 2 to 2.50 and i told them i wanted a valet key too but they didnt make those and they told me to go to honda so i had to pay 5 for the valet key and it had a honda emblem thingy on the key instead of an acura(rubber grip area) but oh wellz =P

im guessing your car was made before 00 because 00+ have a chip inside and can't be duplicated. if you goto an acura dealer they can make you a new one but i thnk you gotta pay like 20 bucks or soemthing weird. i was at the dealer and this guy had his dog eat his only key or something...had to get his car towed to the dealer and everything so he could get a new key. brand new acuras they give 2 masters (a spare is always good ) and 1 valet i wonder where i put that damn valet key lol.
