New Rims? Do you need to get Your front end realigned? Also a little rub...help?
I just got new rims for my CRX Si ...17's are obviously a huge step up from stock, on my stock rims i could take my hands off the wheel and it would go straight forever. Now with these new 17's on Yokohama A520 215-40-17 tires i take my hands off and sometimes it stays straight sometimes it doesnt, also the car will pull to the right when braking sometimes, and just driving down the road it will pull to either side a little bit i believe it happens when i hit like a small hole or something.
The tires i bought on the rim and would think they where balanced when put on, they were never used though because the kid ended up getting different rims so they just sat in his house for a few years and i scoffed them up. Should i get them rebalanced, and my front end relaigned even though it was aligned pefect on stock rims?
Also im getting a little rub on my back driver side wheel when i hit bumps, not even all that hard, and also take left corners relatively sharp. I think i need a new shock back there? Its an 88 CRX Si and the back has stock shocks and the front was replaced with KYB AGX. Is it the shock or is it something else?

17's is too big IMO . Should go 16's at the most.
Stiffer shocks might help a little with the rubbing and you might want to try rolling fenders.
Whenever you get new rims you should get all 4 aligned.
Your tires might be what's making it pull. directional tires tend to follow the grooves in the road more. Its a sacrifice you make for more performance

17's
you should have done some research before you ordered those rims and tires. First 17's are considered WAY TO BIG for our cars. also you will have rub with tires that wide. Usually just changing tires and rims will not effect anything on your car, but you went overboard and will probably have a lot of issues.

The 17s will still work but you may have to pay a little more.
1. Yes most defiantly get an alignment done.
2. What is it rubbing against? When I put mine on they were rubbing against the fender. SO I called up a good body shop and had him pull the fender out.

After:
Its kinda hard to see but the rim can acctually tuck now with no problems.

How much did that cost you roughly? ... Did they also roll the fenders? I figured out what that was after a search :D kinda neat trick with a bat
I havent narrowed it down exactly what its rubbing agaisnt i havent had the chance to check it out thoroughly, and its raining right now so ill find out when it stops

bfrank 81, that car would look sick minus the stickers, fogs, and red paint.....just the tint and rims would look phatter IMO.
Try rolling the fenders with a baseball bat.....honestly though 17's are not meant to be on these cars.

I had my front and rear fenders rolled and both sides of the car completely painted for $900.00. It may have been a little pricey, But I am proud of the results.
