00 py itr with 23k miles going for 17500. sounds like a great deal but the seller says the car has a bite at redline in 2nd gear, stating that the synchro has to be replaced eventually. cost is ~200 he says. im thinking since he installed a jdm final drive, thats where the problem started. my question is, is a synchro that big of a deal, needs to be replaced asap, covered under acura warranty if car is put back to stock, etc. is the price too good and the synchro so minor i shouldnt have to worry about. thanks to all who reply

 

It has nothing to do with the JDM final drive. You have little chance that the syncro will be replaced under warrenty but you never know until you ask them.

A messed up syncro is NOT a minor problem.

 

and it will take much more than 200 dollars to replace.

the part alone is just about that.

 

but figuring in the price for the car, its a great deal. only 23k miles and he only wants 17.5, sounds good to me.
