oil question

Default oil question

can i mix oil say if i was using 10w 40 and wanted to switch to 20w 50 can i do that cause im low on oil and i heard i can use 20w 52 to help stop my valve clatter.

yes you can just don't mix synthetic with Dino oil

20w50 is pretty thick stuff for an engine unless you're boosted. Thats' what I had to run in my old turbo coupe, but for an n/a honda that is mildly modded 10w30 should be fine.

actually the thicker oil on an older engine will help out with all the noise form the valvetrain... 10w 30 is recomended for the engine when it is new but mine is 13 years old and needs something a little heavier... I went from 10w 30 to 15w 45 and next oil change i will use 20w 50...

should really flush out the engine before you change the oil
