Koni's are expensive!!! <Read inside>
I looked at koni prices and they are rediculas for the hatchback. I think I am going to go with KYB's and Ground Control coilovers. What do you all think? Are KYB's pretty good, I know some one who has them and he likes them in his Delsol. Please help the shaggenWaggon handle. I know, I know, it is nothing compared to rearwheel drive on the auto cross course. thanks
I had some KYB's on my EF and I hated them they blew out in about a couple of months. Koni's are expensive but I think they are well worth every dollar, no doubt abot that.
KYBs are good quality shocks, i have them on my CRX and love them. I recommend them to everyone. -BUT-, i definatly dont think they were designed to stand up to professional level autocrossing. If your car stays on the street and/or drag strip, you'll never have a problem with them. But from what i have seen/heard, they wont stand up to much of an autocross-induced beating for too long. If you have the cash, get the KONIs. If not, keep in mind that KYBs have a lifetime warranty, so you can always get them replaced if/when you blow them. All depends on your budget...
A set of Tein HA models for the EF can be gotten for around $1,200 and offer ride and height adjustability. Also the H&R full coilover model is around that, but with only height adjustability, no dampening (Tein has 16 points).
I looked at the KYB prices, and a set of Eibach race springs, and for a few hundred more, you get a set up designed around the two elements, and a lot of flexibility. It's pricey, but well worth it if you want to autocross/road race/ or even drag.

If you were really on a small budget, you could have gone with lowering springs instead of the GCs.
I haven't heard too much about that setup, but good luck with it!

I notice that everyone just puts that they have KYB's or have looked at them. Question is, which KYB's are we talking about? The AGX is my guess, but I'm not sure if that's what everyone has had.
