Default Best engine mounts for b-series

Just curious what you guys and gals think about this topic. I like Arizona Race & Machine's for high quality, price, and how helpful. Post your opinion.

I've only used Place and HasPort. Both are nice and have worked well in my customer's cars. I personally like the motor and tranny placement with the Hasport.

When doing a B16, B17, or LS, some things like the heater/coolant hoses and exhaust, shift linkage lined up better and was within reach. The downpipe came pretty darn close to the front crossmember with the PLACE kit. ( since that kit places the engine farther forward )

I like the fact the axle angle is less with the HasPort mounts. But I assume since the engine/tranny is further back, you are more prone to axle binding due to the length of the axles if you dont use the correct set-up.

I just recently installed a JDM GSR into a 89 CRX using the older style HasPort mounts with the black urethane. The TPS sensor on the GSR manifold is pretty close to the hard fuel line on the firewall and the underhood webbing had to be cut out to clear the taller GSR engine, but after that, all is good!!! ( Oh, and you have to modify one of the coolant/heater lines behind the engine on the GSR )

The pricing of the PLACE tend to be more attractive to the customers. The HasPort looks pretty and seems "beefier", but I've no problems with the Place ones that customers get on-line.

I cant comment on other mounts kits because Ive only used these two.
If it comes down to personal opinion, I'd choose HasPort mainly for the reasons listed above......engine placement and less axle angle ( in relative to tranny ).
Both are good in my opinion.

I have never heard of Hasport mounts breaking but i have heard of Place mounts breaking at the welds. HCP engineering sells good mount as well. I recomend HCP or Hasport. I have Hasport and installation was a breeze.

I have the AZ Race Machines in my CRX. Real good quallity. No binding issues at all. They vibrate alot but you'll have that with any aftermarket mount kit for a B-Series. At least everyone I've eveer seen. The guys at AZ Race Machine were really cool and good to deal with. I liked them so much I ordered 5 kits. I have a Set in my CRX and a set for my Civic, the rest I sold to customers. I'm doing another swap with them this weekend. For price and quality AZ Racemachine HASport is still supposed to be the best, but I have seen no neg. effects from my AZ Race Machines.

I have no basis of comparison since I've used only the Totem mounts. I think there Canadian Made, very affordable and so far I have nothing bad to say about them. Motor fells solid and the vibrations are nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. They also have a no-questions-asked lifetime warranty.

Totem= so far

This is my theory, if you live in AZ, go with Hasport, in case anything goes wrong you can always take the mounts back to Hasport and get a free replacement. If you live in So Cal, go with Place Racing for the same reasons stated earlier. If you live in other states, go with whichever is cheaper. I have Place Racing and have no complaints.

I used Hondasavers mounts. They worked just fine for me. I've yet to notice any viberations. (maybe cause Im running an open header?) At any rate I give em cause they are good mounts. Cheap and fit well.
