Default took the gsr to the track today...

Went to the drag strip with some friends today driving my friends 95 GSR.
Only engine mods is a cold air intake. the runs were done on 15"' rota attacks with 205/50-15 Kumho 711 at 30psi

1st run (me driving)
RT : .518
60FT : 2.337
1/4 : 15.493 @ 89.6

2nd Run (my brother driving)
RT: .754
60FT : 2.270
1/4 : 15.214 @ 91.25

3rd Run (me driving again)
RT : .478
60FT : 2.201
1/4 : 15.062 @ 90.6

4th Run (bro again)
RT : .423
60FT : 2.56
1/4 : 15.59 @ 92.2

my best friend also ran his 2000 GSR (AEM intake, 4.785fd & CM flywheel) he hit a best of 15.393 @ 87 ( also ran a 15.87, 15.79, and 15.59)

u shoul be running consistantly in the low 15s, not bad work on ur 60ft and maybe tires or tire pressure help a grip

tires gripped great for what they are. only problem was it was too damn hot and there was a semi strong head wind. next time im hoping for a 14.9

my bro seems to spin tires a little more than me, which exlaines the higher mph. we both chirp 2nd and somtimes 3rd, both shift indicated 8000rpm (i hit the limiter once )

for you and your brothers .4xx reaction times. not many can pull those off.

as mentioned, lowering the tire pressure will increase the contact patch with the tires and pavement @ rotation, thus more grip, less spin. The lowest e.t.s were good too considering its a 95 with just a cai.

BTW: how much mileage on the car?

cheers

the car has about 80k on it. but its dying for a tune up. oil is pretty damn old, needs some new tranny fluid, could do with a fuel filter, plugs and wires too. maybe ill hit 14's next time!

Your trap speeds are about the same as mine, I ran a 15.08 @ 92 in my 94 GS-R w/ 130K+ miles w/ full interior and spare, everything all stock on the engine except K&N filter, plus tires, shifter, and CM flywheel and clutch.

However your friend's 2000 GS-R trap speeds seem a bit low.

well in reality, unless you're competing to win some prize, R/T really means nothing. If you're just running on a test 'n tune day, it makes no difference what the R/T is since it has no effect on ET.

yeah r/t time does not, matter of fact my first time at the track I purposely had a reaction time of like 2.XX --lol-- But i also got my quickest time doing that. FOr all you newbies-first time at track- try this- go when you want and dont worry about take off and tire spin.

Let's all be ******** here and look up to the big man threatcon, the most halfwitted, imbecile, nontheless a nincompoop...

oh yes...the tree:

----------------------------------------------------
Reaction Time

This tells you how quickly you reacted to the green light on the Christmas Tree. In this case, it is set as a .500 second or sportsman Tree. You want your RT to be at or as close to .500 as possible. If you react faster than that, you’ve just redlighted.
----------------------------------------------------

you think you're better than me? you know everything now?

cheers dcikwad

haha .4 is a redlight.. not so good. but it doesnt matter in practicing. only in competition does it matter. .500 is perfecT! my best ever is a .500 when i was racing my dads 5 series!
