GSR ECU vrs TYPE R ECU?
Ive got a gsr with ITR cams and a type r ecu, and there is a world of difference just between the gsr ecu and the type r ecu. The type r ecu is definately more powerful and pulls harder in vtec. The sound of vtec is much more noticeable with the type r comp vrs the gsr comp. We were trying to figure out exactly what is different between the two ecu's. Does anyone know?

what exactly happens with the 2 stage manifold on the GSR? if the itr ecu doesnt tell it to open the secondary butterflies?
And what kind of gains can be found by just swaping in an itr ecu? What about with itr cams and bolt ons? (i know this will vary depending on the types of mods, but what is a ball park figure?)

did you use a jumper harness OBD1 to OBD2???? Also have you swapped your IM for a skunk2 IM, if not then you'd possibly be better using the GSR P72 ECU and get it chipped otherwise your secondary runners will remain open constantly using the P73.
