Fuel Pressure
Haven't started work on changing fuel filter...just reading up right now. One thing I'm still not too sure about is, say after i'm done with all and i start my car, will my fuel pressure automatically return to normal or is there soemthing I have to do still?
Also to relieve the pressure b4 i start work, all i need to do is remove the gas cap?

There is a little service bolt on top of the other bolt that relieves the pressure. Also you don't need to do anything after the change, the pressure will rise up by itself. Just make sure you replace all the washers.
Definately replace them, youll regret it if you dont and you go to start her up and it sprays fuel everywhere and you gotta go back and redo it. Theyre not expensive either. As for the pressure whenever I do fuel work I just turn to ignition then back to off then back to ignition and start her. Primes the system twice to be sure all the air gets circulated through.

yeah, it'll build pressure by itself, turn your key to the ignition, but don't turn it over for a couple seconds, that primes the fuel pump, and builds the pressure. This way, you can also check for leaks before starting the car..

Let me teach you the real world method. With or without relieving fuel pressure you can wrap an old rag around the fuel line fitting and crack the bolt loose...Pressure will slowly bleed in about 5-minutes, after which fuel will only drip...drip...drip...ect...It's never a 100% clean job, so why really bother (only do this when the engine is cold & no ignition from spark or open flame is present). You'd be surprise how long it takes to do any job, when you search for steps/proper method in between job. Engineering rule- K.I.S.S. >Keep... It... Simple...Stupid...
