Valve springs A6 or Z6 what the difference

Default Valve springs A6 or Z6 what the difference

I can get a set of valve springs for a A6 there JG im just wondering whats the difference between the two. I know the retianers are the same but the springs are different part numbers but whats different?

I know the compressed height is different, because the Z6 has Vtec, and the A6 doesnt.


If you are thinking of useing the A6 springs in the Z6 head, i wouldnt recommend this at all.I could almost garuntee you that you will see some spring coil bind and then.........................................BOOM! !!

I am not sure on the exact spring height.


I am sure you can use the retainers, but you may be better off to match the retainers up with the same brand name of spring.
