Default S2k antenna same as MDX antenna?

The S2000's antenna, and the Acura MDX share the same part number (39151-S2H-E01). Are these antennas identical? I'm just wondering if the antenna conversion with RStoR's kit can be done with the MDX antenna.

Here's the link for you lazy people:

is the price different between the MDX and S2K antenna? being the same part number i would think it would be the same antenna but if they cost the same it wouldn't really matter which you get unless you really want to say you have the MDX conversion

They are relatively the same price. I don't know anyone to sells both Honda and Acura parts, so I can't compare the two. I'm just worried about fitment issues. Does anyone else have any ideas?

A&H Motorsports sells both Acura and Honda parts (hence the name).

wouldn't they have to be if they had the same part number? I mean it would screw up the whole listing of items if they had two different parts with the same part number. Then a person with an s2k would buy the wrong replacement antenna.

I say 99% that it is the same.

I hope so, cuz I just ordered one. I'll be the first person to ever do the "MDX" antenna conversion.

I don't know if you guys know about this site, but they sell the MDX and several other funcstional antennas for $40 (isn't the dealer like $80 for the MDX I think )

http://www.locustom.com/antenna_list.htm

my buddy got his MDX style from there for his Maxima, works perfectly.

In my 16 years or so as a honda owner, In my experience. If the part #
is EXACTLY the same, then part is EXACTLY the SAME.
If, even 1 character is different , THEN the part is different. Especially the last 2 or 3 characters. The prices however can vary widely!

No, the description says, "element antenna". It should be worded, "antenna element". That part number is right around $20 at Acura Carland (that link I provided above).

FYI, the Suzuki Areo (like the toyota matrix) has the same exact antenna as an s2000. i compared the s2k antenna on my teg to his on his suzuki and they are identical. same length, screw in the same, everything. maybe buy one of those if they are cheaper.

Yeah, they're great to work with. Just ask for Mike in the parts deptartment. I've ordered several things from them in the past year and have been 100% satisfied. Keep in mind that there is a $30 minimum on all orders.
