B18c5 Shopping List
Ok, well I apologize for not searching but between my 3 jobs I do not have time to surf the internet anymore. So here goes. Soon I will be buying a B18c5 motor swap for my 1993 Honda Civic Hatchback. Are there any miscellaneous parts that I will need to buy for this swap to get in my car and running??? If I get a JDM B18c5 do I need a new computer, because it was my understanding that all JDM motors are OBD1 which would make my life very easy. But anyways thanks for the understanding fellas, even though I haven't surfed/posted in a while I know you guy's will pull through. I appreciate this.

Well I'm really looking for more motor oriented parts. For instance, the axles line up correct? I know the mounts are ok. Is there anything else I should worry about? Thanks for the help though.

everything you need to know about a b18c5 in an EH2, is all found within his head.

swaps are never "complete" ............. there is always some little thing, that can become a big headache

OK, your swap should come with the computer, jdm P73.
This is the route i went on my 93 CX.
Since i bought my car as a shell, it didnt even come with an engine harness, so i had to buy a new one.
I bought a 96 GSR harness
Then i bought a Kenji Jumper harness ( OBD1 to OBD2a)
It plugs in, but you will have to have some things wired which isnt hard... IE: vtec
If you want to go the OBD1 chipped p28 route, someone else who knows more should jump in on this question.
mounts work, axles work.
as far as exhaust, it wont bolt up. i used a bolt on exhaust ( apexi worldsport )
and i have to get a custom cat, which a muffler shop can do, though i would by
a 2.5inch flange and o-ring gasket from jdmhondaparts.com
Hmm i can't think of anything else, Tom or anyone else whos more technical will need to tell you the rest

this is what i had to do to drop a 97 jdm itr motor into my 94 cx hatch.
1. rewire injectors
2. rewire distributor (the worst part)
3. obd1 to obd2 conversion harness (wanted to keep jdm ecu)
4. 1 vtec wire to the ecu
5. 1 knock sensor wire to the ecu
6. used itr axles and shift linkage work great (car is only lowered about 2 inches maybe more might make axles to tight)
7. dc sports irt header/ random technology high flow cat
good thing about my 97 itr motor is it only required 1 o2 sensor so i did not have to rewire another
i think thats about it.. good luck and have fun its a great motor civic....
