4.5 brings it up to the 2nd dot on the dipstick. 4 quarts brings it to the 1st dot on the dipstick. Running anything less in the motor risk damaging your engine and higher temps.

i've never put in anything more than 4 quarts exactly, and it always comes up to the top hole on the dipstick... that's after draining it for a long time too.

I notice the same thing. After four quarts, it is just right at the top of the dipstick.

I put in anywhere from 4.2-4.5 It is important to bring your oil level up to the 2nd dot if you have a b18c(1,5) motor or vtec gets angry
There isn't a problem mixing those oils. I've met a few people who mix on purpose. I don't quite understand why there were but i know it's not harmfull. I rather use all of the same visc.

depends on where you live, the climate.
I live in washington and the weather is pretty consistant in temp. I use 5w30 Syn (mobile 1 bai's)
I just changed my oil tonight and had to put in a little more than the 4.2 (says the manual)
My engine likes to burn about 1 qt every 1500 ;(

I agree! Different viscosities don't mix. It's recommended not to do this.

there is no damage caused in doing this. If i dont have extra 5-30 laying around in goes 10. WHy, cause i dont care and i dont feel like tracking down 5-30 with its just going to leak out of the pan gasket.
would i mix 90W gear oil with motor oil.....probably not, but come on, 5W and 10W.........

I agree that it doesn't cause damage. Obviously many people have done including you and they don't notice a difference. I have even done it myself.
Similarly, using non sythetic oil doesn't cause damage, but many people chose to use synthetic. I think you would agree that using the same viscosity is probably best. Who knows.... It doesn't really bother me anyway
