the header that i just picked up doesn't have a bung for the primary O2 sensor. can i simply wrap it in tinfoil and zip-tie it out of the way or must it be used? also, are there any negative affects to doing this? thanks!

other than a CEL, will that have any ill effects for the car?

 

Even OBD 1 requires the primary O2 sensor. You will need to have a bung welded on.
