your friend guessed a random 5 digit code??? thats puuuuure luck bro - you should've written it down
your options are to reserve a day and sit in your car trying to guess the code again...or go to acura and they'll find the code for you.

WTF, thats BS, last time I just took out my STOck Deck and on top of the deck theres an acura Seriel number, i went tot he dealer and give them my Seriel number and they looked it up on the Computer and Gived me my code, all they need is the prove of Registration.....

Check inside the owners manual, on top of the deck, and under the hood for some sort of 5 digit number.
There should be a card in the owners manual.
Otherwise you can just take the deck out to the dealer and they can cross referance it.

unplug the battery again, it should reset the radio. then itll let you plug the code in. if you dont put it in within three tries it locks you out, if that happens unplug the batt and try again.

IT LOCKS YOU OUT, after something like 5 incorrect tries
You MUST disconnect from power for X amount of time.
I can't recall, how long maybe a couple of hours ?? Or it might lock you out completly. Call Acura and ask.
I'll try to find out and post again soon.

And you must enter a 5 digit string, if you enter more or less it LOCKS YOU OUT. Doesn't anyone read thier owners manual????

I CAN'T FIND MY owners manual,duhh.
Either disconnect the neg. batt cable.
Or pull the connector out of the back of the stereo.

did you look at the ashtray? coin tray.. thing</TD></TR></TABLE>
The code is not anywhere accessible inside the car unless the previous owner(s) were stupid enough to mark it down, "inside the car"
Sort of defeats the whole purpose of an "anti-theft radio" if the code is written all over the inside of the car. Don't you think?
And, I disagree also with your the statement, "5 mins. "
I've locked myself out of my stereo and the disconnect time might not have been an "hour" but it was more than "5 mins."

allright let me clear up a few things #1 do not ever take your car to the dealer to get the code. #2 if you cant remove the deck yourself and must take it to the dealer do not pay more than 1 hour labor (for most cars) #3 an anti-theft radio should LOCK after 3 attempts #4 you do NOT have to leave the power off for a hour remove both battery cables and AFTER they are removed touch them together
this resets everything (this is what they where going to charge $200 for) #5 as far as placement of the code sticker goes that is up to the dealership they are not anywhere in the vehicle when they come from the mfr. it is left up to the tech. to place them where ever they want to (if they even put them on) and lastly e-mail me if your local dealer tries to rape you and i will get you the code

The acura dealership i bought it from might of put it there or it might of came like that who knows.. im just telling you guys that is where mine was
i did this numerous times on the stock radio, i took it off for 5 mins and it worked.. imjust working from what i have seen.. a hour is def pushing it.. 15 mins max is the most i would go.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I put the radio serial # on the back of the glove box after I locked myself
out of my radio, lost the card with the code on it. But not the actual code. I think if you have the actual code written inside the car what's the point of an anti-theft radio. Remove the code # and replace with the serial #. Just ,
MHO
And if you you dissconnect the batt for 5 mins. or 55 mins. what's the difference, better to leave it for an hour than to keep going back and checking if the memory of the lock-out is cleared, right?
Better to wait and do it once than over and over. Also, just MHO
