help: Cylinder Missfire (engine check 71, 72)
I just came back from Japan, and I found my car started up started, like it was having trouble cranking up, but after it was fine. The engine check light came on and I checked it, it happened to be 71 and 72 (first and second cylinder missfire or a random misfire a condition is present that is creating a cylinder missfire).. I have a kill switch installed to my fuel pump, and I told my friend to start up the car while I was gone.. He told me that one time he accidentally forgot the switch was on, and he was trying to start it up with no fuel going into the cylinders.. Is this something I should worry about, or is the ecu just shooting the code because their wasn't enough fuel pumping when I started up the car when I came back? I drove to town, and the car runs fine, no noises or lagging in the motor (no I didn't rip it). Please leave some feedback, thanks..

I occassionally get the misfire check engine light on my 99 GS-R. I have 310 injectors which is probably causing the misfires. It seems to happen only when the car is warming up in the morning or after the car has been sitting for a while. After a bit of driving around the CEL goes away. Your car is probably fine. Drive it around for a few days and the light should go away.
