A/C Compressor for 88 CRX Si? Difference between Mat and Sanden? Interchangable?
According to the paperwork that i recieved when i bought the car there was a matsushita compressor that was put in it. It then had a leak and was taken out and new one was never put back in.
So i was wondering what the difference was between the Matsushita and the Sanden compressor is there different brackets for the compressors? If a matsushita compressor was on the car back in 99 i would assume that one would fit now.
Although searching through the forum i noticed people recommending the sanden tr70, not really sure why? Reliablilty, maybe? Well will either compressor bolt up? Now i just hope the bracket wasnt removed when the compressor was taken out by the mechanics shop. What does the bracket look like?
All i know its frigen hot and i want some god damn a/c!
Thanks for the help, Eric

Well i was just looking at it cause im going to get mine offline i went to parts america today and frigen $250 for a frigen compressor of either make...ebay there going for like 150 sounds like a deal to me
So i guess the mounts are not different just the way the hoses hook up ....allrihgt ill get the matshisuta since i know that was in there before so im guessing those hoses will fit good.

Sanden and Matsushita's are pretty different. Not only are the brackets different, but so are the tubes that mount to the compressor.
I installed the complete A/C system in my car. I had bought all the parts used and ended up buying everything for the Sandem system EXCEPT for a compressor and bracket. I picked up a Matsushita compressor and bracket from somebody else. I was able to bend/tweak the connection that is on the passanger side of the car a little and made it work, but the connector that more on the driver side of the car didn't even come close. I had to get the Matsushita one.
If you want, I have my Matsushita compressor, bracket, and hoses out right now. I'm not selling these items, but I am willing to trade for a compressor and bracket off a D16Z6 (no hoses needed). The compressor doesn't even have to be working... need it for a core for trade in.
