pull the kick panel on the passenger side...down by your feet towards the door. under there is your ecu. look for a big green rubbery looking thing...pull the plug out of it and thats the connector you want to use. when you find that...bridge the two holes with a paper clip...make sure it is tight. then turn the key to ignition...but don't start the car. the cel will flash some pretty colors.

there should be a small plug down by your ecu. its a 2 wire i believe. anyways, you use a paperclip or wire and connect them, like a loop (hard to explain) turn the key all the way, car doesnt need to be on. the cel will flash several times.

edit: the guy above me explained it much better

this site will tel u which codes your throwing. a long blink is for the tens place and short blinks are in the ones place. ex: 1 long 2 short is 12

If you have a Haynes manual, it will also have a diagram of which plugs are being referred to (the ones you have to bridge) and a list of the codes, too.

the green rubber thing is just a holder for the plug... the plug is actually a blue plug with 2 wires.
