How loud will this sound? I have heard of the N1 being loud, but never experienced it. How loud will it be with the header and HF cat? I thinking about getting the Apex N1 at a really good deal, but am debating on the noise issue.

What kind of power gains will i see?

if memory serves me correctly, my R with an AEM, JDM ITR 4-1, custom catalyst and Apex N1 exhaust was measured at ~ 96 - 97 dB @ Laguna Seca...good enough for a black flag.

 

btw what is a blackflag?

Lets just say it will be annoyingly loud! It wont be a good loud either. I have an Apex N1 with 2 1/2 all the way to the header with a dummy cat. It sounds ok at really low RPM's in 4th or 5th gear going up a hill, but thats about it. When you hit high rpm's it is scary loud and not having cat makes it buzzy so you really sound like a ricer with a glass pack. Cruising on the freeway, you can't have a conversation or listen to the radio. I would have put some resonators on mine but I got a turbo and now its quiet and it sounds sweet!

 

I have a Spoon 4-2-1 header, carsound cat and a N1....If you are worried about noise the N1 is not the set up for you....Its pretty loud...like hear you from 3 blocks away in vtec loud

 

one word -> loud!!!!!!!!!!!!!! even with the silencer.
