Default HB Civic Swap

What would be a better engine to swap into a 92-95 hatchback. A JDM H22A or a USDM b18C? I know the H22A has more horsepower, but I am wondering about the extra weight and mods available. Anyone have any time estimates for a gutted ~2000LB hatchback with one of these swaps? Also what are the HP ratings for the JDM H22A and the JDM H22A Type-S. THanks for your help.

Depends on what all your trying to do. If your looking for a car to get very fast in a straight line down a 1/4 mile then H22. Looking for car to go fast but can also handle then B18C. I heard that with an H22 in an EG makes the car hard to handle. My boy has a J-Spec B18C (GSR well SI-V in Japan) in his EG and he loves it. It's a bit faster than the USDM B18C. Either way both engines are good choices.

Use the search function and type in "H22A" and "B18C1" or "B18C JDM" and do research from the 20+topics on this subject within the last few months.
