CRAZY Shaking After Swap! Please hlep!
http://www.hasport.com/News/Ar...s.htm
in that article it says to remove some metal 0 from the hub, I didnt
and my car shakes so bad that my CD player wont play. Is this normal for a B20 swap? It feels as tho the axles are binding the more I accelerate. When I brake, the shaking almost stops, (theres still a lil shaking, nothing compared to accelerating and crusing) what could it be????
thanks

the hub dust shield, will not make your car shake like yours is doing. what i think is doing it, is the rear tranny bracket that holds the tranny mount to the rear cross member! do you remember massaging the lip of the rear cross member, so that the bracket won't touch it. if you forgot to do this, the car will shake like there is no tomorrow! if you did bend the lip, go back and recheck that you bendt it to the point that the bracket is not touching the rear cross member! good luck
I forgot to add, what would cause my axles to bind like they do? They bind when I turn cornors. I'll check the rear tranny mount.

blaze, what year axles are you using? i remember using a 91 passenger side axle on my 88 crx, and i didn't have any problems with the axle binding without removing the dust seal on the hub!
If you didnt remove the dust rings from the hubs, then obviously thats your problem right there. Thats causing all of your problems.
Also, what intermediate shaft did you use? did you get it with the axles?

Yes, remove the hub rings... I tried to get my car to run without removing them, and it didn't even want to get out of the garage, the axles were binding so badly. Two hours later and it was smooth as buttah.
Wow I guess I lucked out. I went over 500 miles with them in on my old axles.
I took them off with my new set though to see if there is a difference.

I was exaggerating when I said I used my hand, I'm not THAT strong
I actually used a very small prybar or a screwdriver... can't remember which. And yes, it's #2 on the picture there.
You want a pic of someone holding it in their hand? Here's my hand:

As you can see the dust ring goes into the back of the hub/knuckle assembly:
