Gauging Interest - Complete PS Removal Kits
I will soon be upgrading the PS loop/breather system on the ITR, and decided to inquire about possible member interest in the complete kit. If interest is sufficient, I will begin construction of the kits. This will be a complete bolt-on package, and will include absolutely everything necessary to loop/vent the PS system. The preliminary contents list is as follows:
- Complete US Brake or Tilton reservoir setup
- Reinforced tubing (oil/fuel-safe)
- Barbed fitting for rack
- "T"-fitting
- All necessary clamps
- Teflon tape (for rack fitting)
- Printed instructions
Preliminary pricing is $60 (the majority of which is attributed to the reservoir). Note that I have done extensive searching for a more cost-effective reservoir, but have been unable to find any acceptable substitute. This kit is intended for those who wish to properly remove their PS systems but would prefer a bolt-on solution over sourcing the components themselves. As with many other things, it could be duplicated by an individual at slightly less expense. That being said, in no way do I intend to "scam" any member, and the kit will be exactly as promised.
Moderators, if possible, please allow this to remain in the ITR forum for the present to better gauge interest. TIA.
EDIT: There is very little profit "built-into" the $60, so shipping will be paid by the buyer. The weight of the kit will be minimal, so shipping costs should be quite low.

Unless you are doing this for altruistic reasons, I don't think that $60 per set is going to repay your effort. And two honda-tech threads have listed all the necessary parts that can be ordered pretty easily from two sources. Total price is about $77. I could imagine using cheaper parts for the connections and adapters, but you are probably only going to make about $5 per set.

Update on the kits:
I have been finalizing the components, and will most likely have a complete list by Thursday. The first kit should be finished by next weekend, and I will have photos ready at that time. Due to a problem with one of the original components (the fitting) the final cost will most likely be approximately $65-67.
For those who are definitely interested, please PM or email me with your H-T name, full name, and address so that I can begin a database. This information will be used to determine the necessary number of each component and also to calculate individual shipping before I collect each payment.
Please feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns.

This second list includes all the parts needed to construct the loopback and breather connections to the reservoir. The two parts you listed form a barbed connection to the rack. The thread I listed has a complete explanation - https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1
As I said in the original thread, this Aeroquip loopback/breather solution is probably overkill qualitywise, but we are still only talking about $48 of parts.

Type-Rare#1248> i don't care about the list that ppl previously made because i dont like hunting around for parts
Huh? What hunting - the two lists details all the necessary parts, which can be ordered online in about 10 minutes.

norice, so if i have the hosenow parts listed above, what do i still need?
from your list:
-6 adapter FCM2062 adapter $6.87 ea. 1 $6.87
FCM1512 -6 St.Hose End $3.35 ea. 1 $3.35
Aeroquip Socketless Hose FBV0600 $2.82 ea. 3 $8.46 <------no?

FCM2915 -6 swivel adapter $8.24 ea. 1 $8.24 <-------no?
adapter FCM2240 metric adapter $8.09 ea. 1 $8.09
i'm guessing i can drop the 2 items with <-------- because i already have them?
the descriptions and part numbers don't jive.

You do not need FCM1512 in my list (which is a slightly higher quality version of the FBM1222 part from Hosenow) and FCM2240 (the M14x1.5 to -6AN adapter, which is equivalent to Hosenow part #15.117-6-6S).
The hose size is -6 AN (FBV0600). I ordered three feet of it.

If you want to see pictures of the individual parts, you can go to http://www.racerpartswholesale.com and search for the Aeroquip part numbers that I listed (e.g., FCM2915).

OK - the kit is basically finalized. Each kit will include the following components:
- Complete Tilton or US Brake reservoir with bracket (same price, same basic design. The initial prototype/photograph kit will use US Brake, but I may switch to Tilton for the rest of the kits)
- Aeroquip fittings for the steering rack
- Barbed "Tee" fitting
- All necessary tubing (oil/fuel safe)
- All necessary clamps
- Teflon tape for rack fitting
- Instructions
Final pricing is set at $66 plus shipping. I have researched UPS, FedEx Ground, and USPS, and FedEx ground appears to be the least expensive. Because of this, FedEx Ground will be my preferred shipping method unless a buyer objects. The packaged kit should be quite small and light, so shipping costs will be minimal. A member can also opt to pick up the kit if he/she is located near northern NJ.
The prototype kit should be complete by the middle of next week. Once the components arrive, I will photograph and weigh the kit for shipping purposes. I will post the photographs and begin taking final orders.
At that point, a member wishing to order a kit can PM or email me with his/her name, address, and contact information. I will calculate the shipping and relay the final cost to that member. The member can then tender payment by certified/bank check, money order, or Paypal.
Once I receive all of the payments, I will place the various orders, assemble and package the kits, and begin shipping them. The kits should begin shipping approximately one week after I receive the payments.
Again, please feel free to PM or email me with any questions or concerns.

Removing the stock fitting attached to the hard line was a serious pain for me. I made the mistake of using an open ended wrench instead of a crowsfoot wrench and rounded the fitting. And no amount of penetrating oil would help. I eventually had to cut the hard line and use a socket and breaker bar to loosen the fitting.
If you use a crowsfoot wrench from the beginning, life may be easier.
