QUAD TURBO?????
Ok, all the years that I have been in the import scene I have never heard of this thing. Is it real? Because someone told me about a "quad turbo" thing. I don't know if he was miss informed or he's just lying but someone shed some light on the subject. Thanks
it was in a road n track or car n driver, can't remember. There was a quad turbo set up for a cadilac engine i think. It was a few months ago i read it. But the engine was said to make over 1000 hp.
Mike Moran who races and builds Outlaw Pro Street drag cars he built a Quad Turbo engine for his Camaro. I think he ran it some but had to many problems trying to tune it. I do think he made over 2000hp with it though.

All ferrari F40's are twin turbocharged
And no, I don't think LPE has ever quad-turbo'ed a ferrari.

I see them all the time. Bob Norwood brings does a ton of them and dynos them at our shop. He came by today in his Ferrari 308 with a twin turbo 12cyl testarossa motor in it. It only makes 870whp on 93 octane though

Would that be the same Bob Norwood that ran all those ferraris at the bonneville salt flats? Care to share more about this 870 RWHP 308?

That's the one. They do alot of twin turbo testarossas. Bob just happened to put that motor in his 308. They use two 60-1 hi-fi turbos, spearco water to air ics, and a motec m48 ecu. They'll do 800whp at 15psi all day long on 93 octane. Bob said they'll do around 1200whp on 116 octane. They're kinda fast...

God damn, that's nasty. 800RWHP out of anything is sick, but to make that much power out of 4.9L on 93 octane is insane. And here I have people telling me i'll never make 850 to the ground on 91 octane + alcohol injection with a 6.3L motor, pfft.

You might be right, but I really do remember reading about it. The kit cost some ungodly amount and did practically nothing to the preformance of the car. I might be wrong though, Ill have to check some more.

I went to Bob's shop a few years back to get some accell DFI accessories and it blew my mind when he showed me all the Ferrari's he was working on. Seeing John Carmack's 1200hp carbon fiber bodied Ferrari was definately a life changing experience.
I also saw the 4000hp 5.0L 4 cyl Acura right after it was built. Norwood is definately sick in the head!
BTW, when is that thing going to see some track time???
