QUick question about my 6x9 car speakers
Hi. I have a 2000 honda prelude and I just go some new 6x9 speakers for the rear.
I took out the old ones and im in the process of putting in new ones but i ran into two problems
1. Which prong on the speaker is positive and which one is negative? (there is one wide prong and one thin prong)
2. The magnetic base of the speaker is somewhat close to a metal rail in the trunk. Is this a problem? how much distance is needed for safe/effective operation of the speaker?

hell, I got the speakers working perfectly and all, but now i i have another problem.
The speaker goes too deep, and the trunk support rail is in the way.
I am thinking, should i cut off the support rails? or should I shim the speaker, so that it can sit another centimeter higher?

Can somebody please tell me what the Support rail in the trunk does?
It seems pretty useless to me, and I am probably gonna cut it tomorrow morning. Unless it actually has a function that im not aware of??

i think it pops the trunk open, like a spring. i put 6x9 in the rear of my 92 civic. i had to cut the metal with a jigsaw and then pull it away from the speaker. i also cut a piece of the rail too but it was at the end, so i dont htink it made a difference.
