Default Fuel Injector cleaner?

Hey guys,

I was at a gas station yesterday and I saw an older guy filling up a Jag. I talked to him a bit about the car, when he said "is that yours?" pointing to my car. "Put this in every 5 fill-ups," he said, showing me a bottle of "Gunk" fuel injector cleaner. He claimed to be an engineer for Lincoln/Mercury and said that it would definitely feel different. What do you fellas think? any of you use this product or something like it?

I usually put in a bottle of "techron" fuel system cleaner every 3,000 miles or so. Every 5 fill-ups seems way too often. I mean, I could tell you to adjust your valve at every 500 miles and it might improve your car's perfomance, but will you "feel it" for sure? Who knows... plus, what does a Lincoln engineer know about performance. j/k

Fuel injector cleaners are like snake oil. There is always someone who claims that this one brand will work. I think it's all horseshit. Just keep good maintenance on your car and you won't see any problems.
