Default Just did a compression test-- now here's my plan...

My 94 Integra GSR has 160K miles on it and I was a little worried about puttin' my JRSC onto it... I was considering a full rebiuld w/ forged internals, or even buying a sleeved block (because it seemed I'd be spending the money anyway) although I only intend to push 8lbs on the blower... Everybody's been telling me to get a compression test and that will tell me what type of condition my GSR is in...

Well, I went to a friend's house yesturday and did a compression test-- 240 in every cylinder! All my friend are telling me (correct me if I'm wrong) that 240 in every cylinder is really good and I shouldn't need to rebuild.

I was actually kinda surprised because I thought I'd read on honda-tech before that I should expect around 200- 205. I dunno-- maybe I was reading something else? Anyway, I'm not gonna do a full rebuild or get a new block... this is my new plan-- Please tell me what you think.

New timing belt
New oil pump
New water pump
Walbro 255 high pressure fuel pump
LHT's Intercooler
Kamikaze header w/ carsound cat
hondata (probably s200b) tuned well (probably from boosted hybrid)
contemplating larger injectors--- not sure if my boost level requires it

The car already has:
Apexi WS exhaust
ACT stage II racing clutch (less than 30K Miles on it)
ITR tranny w/ LSD (less than 40K miles on it)

Well, that's the plan guys-- let me know what you think... I will have the money together in the next couple weeks to purchase most of these things so any flaws in my plan need to be found now.

Thanks in Advance.

Zack

contemplating taking the LHT Intercooler-- a 1300$ mod off that list because I don't plan on upgrading and I could put that money toward a new block if I blow the one I have due to heat--- which I personally do not think will be a problem @ 8lbs of boost

200ish is for LS engines cause of their lower compression pistons. are you a aggressive driver at all? that sounds really good.

don't know how comfortable I am building an LSV-tec... and even if I was-- the CRVTEC seems like it'd be the real way to make some power

keeping in mind that I will not be upgrading and could have that money sitting aside to put toward a new block if I blow mine (which I shouldn't because I'm only runnin' 8lbs).

Does anyone think I'm making a bad decision by excluding the LHT performance intercooler???

umm i have a friend at 10 psi he blew his block and one of the blades in the jrsc chipped so he had to rebuild both id tell you to just get the jrsc water injection its cheaper and very useful.

Throw the JRSC on and get some real engine management system... Hondata would be ideal since you are OBD1, cheap and effective
