Default question for audio people...

i finally got a remote wire hooked up to my panasonic deck to my amp...i have a jbl 600.1 powering a kicker 15" l7..yea i kno im not pushing it alot but would you guys suggest me to upgrade a new battery..i have a phoenix gold cap lying around uninstalled yet but my long term plan is also get an amp to power my mb quartz...would an upgrade to a better battery and installing my cap be good..or jus install the cap...ive had problems before when i left my switch to the amp on and my car is dead and its a hassle to get it jumped..i think even with the remote wire...my car battery will still be drained when i turned it off and over nite the battery will go dead...is my theory correct or not?..and if i should get a new battery, what brand would yall suggest...thanks

if you hook up the remote wire, the amp wont come on unless the radio is on.a better battery is always a good idea.optima makes a yellow top that is real good.the cap is a good idea also, especially on music peaks.your headlights wont dim as much!if you remote wire is hooked up correctly, your battery wont be dead in the mourning.i have a shitty autozone battery in my civic with a jl 300/2,a rockford db1000 and a alpine 3553.it works fine, just cant play the radio with the car off for a long period of time.my svr battery just took a dump.if you cant afford a better battery, just use the cap.

Here is my two cents.

If right now your only pushing 600 you don't need a new bat. YOu have a cap, and that will help. But if you do get another amp then it is time to think about a new bat. if the one you have now is working fine, maybe you could live with it until it dies and then just spend more on a bat rather then buying a completely new one when you don't need it.
