I thought about that myself if you're worried about theft. The thing is, you'll probably have to make custom mounts so you can mount your radio backwards. There is room to slide the radio back some. Plus the block off plate is a snap on piece. You might have to trim the back of it off a little though. But I think it's a great idea if you have a really expensive CD player and want to hide it.
