Type R or GSR
I've been wanting an Integra for a bit now.. and for the topics Ive read on the ITR's about them getting Stolen and other bad things... Im not quite sure. Yea, sure the ITR is better than the GSR stock but Im sure it would have a way higher risk of getting stolen or stripped then a GSR. And from what I've heard form you guys about rarley able to use the Type R to drive due to the theives. And I plan to be a daily driver on my car. Who drives there Type R daily and who drives it rarley? And what are some things I could do to "possibly" prevent theives from stealing or stripping my ITR if i were to ever get one. Im workin right now to make money to afford the jdm conversion which may also have a higher risk of getting my car stolen. So if you guys were in my shoes... what would you guys think I should get? Thanks.

Buy a Type R and take off all the badges. That may help but you can still tell it apart from the GSR by the 5 lug. Hard decision man! I picked my GSR because I will have a sound system (need sound deadining) and I wanted a sunroof.
What he said, GSRs are targetted as well. Depending on your area, I don't know if a JDM front end would make a difference. I have a JDM front and had two theft attempts, but there have been like 20 Hondas and Acuras stolen from my school, so I don't see that as an outstanding thing. As far as protection, The Club, Autolock, alarm, kill switch, boot, side-mounted flame-thrower, rottweiler hiding in the back seat. Of course, even then, it'll probably still get stolen.
What do you want the car for? If you are already saving for a JDM front end I don't think the ITR is the car for you. Not worth the hassle of being stolen if you just want to dress something up for looks.
That said I have a 2001 ITR and I'm fixing to hit the 75,000mi mark (and it sat at home for 2 months while I was at Auburn). I drive the heck out of it and love every minute, but theft is always a concern.

I'd say go for the Type R. I had my ITR parked in the same neighborhood as my buddy's GSR for 2 years. Someone attempted to steal his GSR 3 times in that period of time, and left my ITR untouched. ( black type Rs

They all get stolen, get what you like. If you don't have too much preference get the GSR and save a few headaches.

how careful?
well I really want a type r.. but as I read these posts/forums theres like 5 topics of ITR's getting stolen.. and im not going for a showcar; the jdm looks better IMO. I just dont want to be paranoid when I take my Type R and leave it outside in a public area. thats what im concerned about

that's not going to happen. you can leave it in a public area, just be smart and dont leave it in a dark, secluded area. try to park it in a more populated spot, like closer to the entrances. you might get more keys and dings, but you'll have a better chance of having the car there when you get back.

I drive my car every day. Theft is always a concern. Just park the car in a smart, populated place, and make sure it is garaged at night. If your going for show though, get the gsr. Don't waste a type r on show. Type R is a racing car, take it to the track...you, and the car will enjoy it. Good luck with your choice
I have a GSR and I would trade it any day for an ITR regardless of theft.
I have never been into show casing. I have nothing against show cars but I will say this. If you want to make a show car then go with the GSR. What sets the R apart from a GSR isn't going to "show". Leave the ITR for me, the person who will take it to the track and remind it why it is an R.
Also on car foums you only hear the worst. Such as my car got stolen etc. People don't come on and post "today my R didn't get stolen, i'm happy".

Go for the ITR.....But U need to park it very carefully. 3 weeks ago, I parked my car right in front of the entrance of a big mall. I stay in there for like an hr for dinner. When I came out, my doors been opened but luckyly nothing got stolen. That guy can't even take off my Mugen computer, or my Kenwood double deck. All he did was unplug my computer but can't take it off because there still a lot of people walking around the parking lot. If I park my R futher down the parking lot, everything will be gone.......

So you are getting the front end...and parts for the motor...what are you using it for? Everyday driving? Track? 1/4 mile? You just have to ask yourself what you want!!!
My opinion is: They make an Integra for every person and there needs

I doubt you're paying all at once anyway- you'll probably have to finance some part of it. Thus you'll have to have full coverage (if you finance it and the finance company doesn't require full coverage, they're shady to begin with), so just get full coverage with a $0 Comprehensive deductable. That way if it gets stolen, it's completely covered. Then it's just a matter of when you get to pick out a new car....
If you live in a bad neighborhood, your bicycle will get stolen. nothing to worry... it is only a 25k car.. there are many nicer cars out there, and ppl are not worry that it will get stolen...
I'd suggest a GS-R.
They're considerably less expensive and much easier to come by. Don't get caught up in what's "better," the differences take experience to appreciate.
