Default Are these 9.0:1 compresssion pistons?

I recently purchased these pistons from another H-T member. They were supposed to be 9:1 B16a JE pistons. They looked fine and everything, but after looking at my buddy's supposed JE 9:1 pistons, our's look totally different. here's a picture of mine, my buddy's are alot more dished, where as mine are more just flattened. thanks

They might be SRP, JE and SRP are almost identical companies, SRP is alittle lower grade I belive.

well regardless of make, shouldn't motor specific and compression specific pistons have the same top-end design? whether it be flat or dished?

I don't belive so, since there are any number of differant designs to make the same compression. Look under the piston, above the pin and look at the stamp.

Find out the dome displacement on the pistons and punch that calculation into the calculator on http://www.c-speedracing.com

If i remember right, 9:1 compression pistons in a b16 block are almost flat top. If your buddy got some that are dished, then they're probably 9:1 pistons for a gsr, which will yield a very low compresion on the b16. Around 8:1 maybe??

Remember, same pistons may yield different compressons on differnt motors because of the combustion chambers of the heads.

ok. both me n my buddy have B16A's. JE's and are both supposed to be 9:1, but look different. Also, does bore play a role? his are 84mm. mine are 81mm.

Absolutely! On an 81mm bore you would have a dome displacement of -.6cc and on an 84mm is would be - 3.88ccs
