Mild soap and water should be fine. The material is not suede, it is Alcantara (a synthetic "suede substitute"), so using lotion or any other suede/leather conditioners on it is not a good idea.
with regards to the type of soap, you guys and the alcantara site mention "mild soap". i'm just wondering what exactly is "mild soap"? i would like to clean my seats at some point...but am not sure of what kind of soap to use.
for regular cleaning of JDM seats, I just wipe them down with a damp chamois after I wash the car. seems to keep the pretty clean.
for a mild soap, I use something sold by lexol that is a cleaner. it is a PH neutral soap and is mild enough to be used on many fabrics. I've heard Woolite works well, too. very gentle on fabrics.
to get rid of stains or dirt, I used fantastik when first received the seats, then wiped them down with a damp cloth to get most of the fantastik back out after the seat was clean. I learned when I was cleaning dirt bikes, that fantastik would take dirt out that other cleaners would leave behind.

What about the USDM Recaros seats, im not referring to the Traditional black ones, that are made of that mesh like material, im talking about ones that come in red/ with the black recaro on the headrest, or the black with the red recaro on the headreast... heres a pic
sorry if that was confusing, but im not sure what the material is, or how to clean it....
