Default Good performing NOT LOUD exhaust...

any suggestions?? Can't have it too loud or else my daughter's ears will go "bye-bye" and I can't let that happen....or should I just roll an intake??

i just did an N1 Apexi non-turbo on my 5th gen wagon >> so many people said it would be crazy loud so I bought a sliencer..... pointis that once I had it installed with a high-flow resonator the muffler was really quiet and actually sounds really nice >> the sliencer quiets it down about 10-20%

see the pics of the exhaust at https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=549450

i say stick with the stock airbox too. Your daughter's ears are more important than a small amount of hp. A k&n filter should work great.

Would it be "quiet" if I ran a cherry bomb (as a resonator) than a larger oval canister muffler??? BTW what's the diameter of the oem exhaust??

I know it would sound like **** if I ran it alone as a muffler, what I'm getting at is using one as a resonator...to quiet whatever other muffler I get....

What about a dual canister mufflers like this:

Wouldn't this be pretty quiet, with both silencers installed??

how about larger mandrel bent piping w/ a universal muffler that is the same dimensions/size (or larger) as stock? and utilizing a resonator similar to the stock one, but adjusted for the larger exhaust piping??

I was thinking of doing that, since I too am looking for the best performance w/ the least amount of added noise.

pick up some mandrel piping in 2.25" add a 22" long resonator and muffler:

youll have an increase in performance, no loud buzzy sound and youll be happy: all for bout 270ish shipped:

i can't believe it took that long for apexi ws to come.

if you want quiet, gain power, and have a quality system for a fair price this is what your want.

hi, i have a 03 civic si and i have a 2 1/2 year old son. i have the greddy evo exhaust and love it. it does everything that i wanted. nice low end power and at high rpm's the intake is louder than the exhaust. the exhaust is very deep sounding (no bee in the can sound) but not over loud. good choice for you.

ok...well i just got a 18" resonator installed today and it sounds great! so....you cant beat a full exhuast system but if you have to go custom, a good resonator and decent muffler will work just fine. i got a cheap straight-thru muffler and it still sounded good after the resonator was installed. any resonator with a perforated core design will work, and the longer the better.

I've had the DC Sports Catback for almost 4 years now and I love it. Deep, non buzzy sound without being very loud.

Well here's my newly updated set-up with help from Mike (KTeller8). Who I must say is HIGHLY recommended by me, he answered all my questions promptly with no irritation, and boy did I have a lot.

After ordering the tires and rear sway bar. I'm going 2.25 mandrel bent, test pipe, 14" resonator with most likely the ES Tuning oval muffler. Can't wait!

I'm looking to VERY MINOR added noise or none at all...........is there ANYTHING like that out there?? Seems as if all people want is loud *** **** and it gets annoying.

Seems the two top suggestions are Apex'i WS and RS*R's ExMag.

Id suggest the same setup as colin, either with testpipe or add in a high flow cat:
and grab a 22" long resonator and have no worry of any buzz or loudness
