Default Car Guys Inc. vs BSR vs NASA

Ok, so here's the deal. For an HPDE-type event, BSR has the cheapest offerring overall, with FATTs running $175 preregistered. That is only one day, but NASA doesn't seem to offer one day events, although from a total amount of track time they have the better deal at about $280 for two days. Then there's Car Guys. What's up? $500-600 for a weekend? Is it that much better, or that much more track time? Someone please explain here.

Carguys has no race groups like nasa so there's less delays and more time for the students. Average over 2 hrs of track time per day.

Don't go to any of their popular tracks expecting that much... i.e. VIR.

IMO it's prob. "you get what you pay for". Common corners to cut for the cheaper track days are 1. less or poorly trained corner workers (even worse driver volunteers) 2. short cuts on tow vehicles and rescue crew 3. Less experinced instructors 4. Too many cars in each group...ect.

Actually, that would be something worth a little extra money, only having like 10 cars in a group or something. What are the size of Car Guys groups?

or even worse, 0-1-2 corner workers.

I've been to 2 different track events that have been ran by 2 different groups. The more expensive one was better in my opinion. The cheaper one had 2 corner workers(front of track&rear of track), while the more expensive one had "CORNER" workers, haha

they tend to be smaller than most. at SP last weekend we combined everyone into just 3 groups with 4 30 min (planned) sessions each. one was cut short when a doofus in a 993 went into the gravel and didnt know where his towing eye was. it took EV a long time to get him out.

re corner workers: the nasa corner workers are top-notch. the car guys are too. the bsr people? I think they are required to have a pulse, but thats about it. No corner workers at all? thats just nukin futz.

I was really happy with the car guys event I was at last august. I was very happy with my instructors, and there was 4 30minute sessions each day...although the 1st session of each day was "touring" laps in the instructor's car.
Car Guys also seems to be the only group that can get VIR full for 3 days durning the season..
