Degreeing in cams with engine out of car?

My understand of Degreeing cam is only apply to people who build custom engine.
Custon engine like custom lenth crank, custom height of deck (deck plate, milled head), custom cam.
Of course you still can degreeing cam if you want, but i think it just waste of time if you degreeing a stock engine (stock crank, stock heigth of deck).
Correct me if i am wrong.. If you need really want know more about it, i suggest you ask the Endyn forum http://www.theoneold.com .

Well, i have heard that you can obtain good gains degreeing even a motor that is not a custom fabrication. Thanks for your reply. By the way, the oldeone.com is no longer operating.
you can't gain by degreeing, you gain by tuning..

Yes, your correct with what you say and agree with that, but a properly degreed set of cams will compliment tuning more efficient in my opinion.
