Default lowering compression by using 2 headgaskets?

orite my friend is running a gsr with ctr pistons........
he wants to use 2 headgaskets to lower his compression to make easier to tune and easier to run on pump gas.

has anyone tried it or have any tips.

if you put in ctr pistons, then 2 headgaskets to lower CR, why would you even put the ctr pistons in the 1st place. if your going all motor, you want hihg CR, doesnt make sence to put 2 hg in.

Been there, done that!. I used 2 headgaskets a couple years ago on my LS/Vtec, because I was afraid of having too high compression. What I did was to dissasemble both headgaskets (remove the rivets), then merge them together: top layer next to top layer, next to middle layer next to middle layer, next to bottom layer next to bottom layer. I used a thin coat of Permatex Gasket spray between the layers, but did not use any on the outside surfaces, where they came into contact with the head and block.

I ran this setup for 2 years with no problems on an 11.5:1 motor, revving to 9,200 rpm all the time, and as far as I know this setup is still running now in its 3rd car.

I was about to say that if you just stick them together its not a good idea because of the rivets.

its not that hard to run pump gas on 12:1 compression.. ive seen guy run 13:1 on pump gass wit no problem.. i would rather get a hondata and have a good tuner sit it up... then sacrifies the power potentials..

as longs as it's tuned, no issues...larger cams will also allow you to run higher compression levels too without the issue of detonation.
