Hey all.

Need help - Doors in my 5th gen just continue to try and lock themselves. Whether they are locked or unlocked the drivers door just tries to lock them. They dont actually lock, all you hear is the mechanism trying to lock them.

Is it my actuator?
Has anyone repaired this themselves?

ANY insight is greatly appreciated

I believe every 5th gen owner has experienced this same problem. I had 3/4 actuators replaced, and is just started that locking noise again. This happened about 6 motnhs ago, and stopped. Hopefully it will stop soon.

 

Has any 5th gens had to replace a brake master cylinder below 40k ?
Weird I thought but my warrenty is way up via the years...

I have the same problem with my 96'. That sound started a couple months ago and my mechanic says it needs a new locking motor..or actuator...whatever. My sister has the same problem on her 97 LX.But I can live with that noise for a while..Id rather spend my money on mods.

 

What about the truck latch mechanism. Mine is not working when you close the lid, I have to manually push on the metal tab to reset the mechanism. Has anyone else had this problem?

Keep in mind this....

The more the locks try and lock themselves...
The more wear your power door locking system has = replacing that as well which is a costly repair (unless u do it yourself)

Just pull the door locking fuse and use the key until you repair the actuator.

ok, first off.. there is no such thing as a "window" actuator in any Honda automobile..
Second..that "clicking" noise you are hearing is the door lock actuator trying to lock/unlock itself..very common in the 94-97 series Accords.. just figure out which door it is coming from and have that actuator replaced...

 

There is to a Window Actuator. It costs ~$120 and comes w/ a window motor. Trust me, i found out the hard way...

I got a quote of $56 for my 96. I am dealing online disc so maybe thats why
I dont believe it comes with a motor

But I gotta fix it anyhow

I was told you can only get it w/ the motor. This was straight from the Honda dealer, that is prob why the price is so high.

 

yeah my $56 was a genuine honda part too
