Problems with the JRSC on my Type R
Well we finally finished the install after 2 days of working on it....
I have a few problems...
1- the main blower pully only clears the master brake booster by 1/4 inch so if I downshift or go in reverse (it pushes the back of the motor up) and the pulley rubs against the brake booster... ***look at the pics for details***
2- If I plug the bypass valve vacum line to the throttle bodyI cannot get any boost whatsoever.. So then we pluged it into the fuel pressure regulator vacum line with a T... then I got spiking to 4.5psi but drops to 2-3 psi at arround 6k ........
3- I cannot get any boost over 4.5psi.........
please someone help me out.. and please dont say take it off, I had a turbo B18 civic last year and wanted something different with more reliability...
AND PLEASE DONT LAUGH AT THE FILTER ITS ONLY TEMPORY.." I HAD A AEM"
and my DC 4-1 header and full exhaust is going on tomo.......

thanks
Tyler

Your blower pulley should fit perfectly between the brake mc and the brake line. When the blower and manifold are bolted up to the engine, there isn't any way to move the blower pulley left-to-right, so something else is wrong. Is your brake mc lined up properly on the booster? Are all of your motor mounts in good shape (not sagging or leaning)? When you get it lined up correctly, you'll have about a belt's thickness between the brake mc and the pulley.

If you are confident that your engine is properly positioned in the engine bay, then my second recommendation is that you check the blower for damage. The blower pulley may be "jammed" into the nose cone, which would explain why it's hitting the mc. The shaft and bearings are not sturdy, and I have heard of the shaft getting pushed into the blower, once during a not-so-delicate installation and also during a pulley swap.

lmao - that car has been in a flood...notice a bunch of bolts are rusty & there is dirt/mud stains where they shouldn't be. I hope the owner knew what he was getting into.
**Have you checked the serial numbers to see if the engine/body match? You may find a few of your current problems are residing in this process. GOOD LUCK.

is it just me or does the engine look like it's sitting a little bit too far back? I remember my header heat shield being closer to the rad
dude the guy asked for help on his SC not help on cleaning his engine bay.
Have you called JR? If not Call them and let them know. Was this a New or Used unit?

Thanks for the pics considering I'm looking into installing one on my R also. As far as the pulley scrubbing the mas. cyl., I would either install a smaller blower pulley or install solid motor mounts or inserts. I have Prothane inserts & the motor doesen't give @ all. But I'm not sure why its not lining up. Good luck!
