I went to smog my car the other day and i didnt pass. The guy told me it was my cat...so i didnt replace the cat...but i got another cat. So im running on 2 cats. The 1st cat...which is right under my headers is the dirty one...and the 2nd cat is a clean one. (sorry to confuse you )

Is it better to have 2 cats (dirty then clean) better than just 1 clean one?

Some dude told me my 2nd cat will clean up whatever is left from the 1st one and its better that way? <---Is this true?

if the one that was intially on your car was jacked, it is still jacked....cats dont have infinate lives...if its bad, its bad...

next time dont take your car to the HILLBILLY SMOG REPAIR SHOP...

go to a reliable repair shop...

 

How does he know that its your cat thats bad? Did he do any tests on it to see if its bad? Or did he assume that its bad? because a smog check alone doesnt tell if a certain emissions control device is bad. It only shows a certain area that MAY be bad.
Also there has to be something that caused the cat to go bad. They usually dont go bad by themselves ie. rich or lean mixtures
