Tire PSI when racing on street tires

DO NOT do that. Instead, inflate them to their proper pressure (I believe 35 PSI front, 32 PSI rear). Dont expect a great launch, best 60' I can ever get with street tires is ~2.3 seconds.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I've got a set of street tires and am going up to the track next week. I was planning on lowering the pressure in the front tires, but after reading this, I would like this explained a little bit more.
Anyone have take on this? Greatly appreciated

dont listen to that moron. lower psi = bigger contact patch = better traction
dont go lowering it to 12-15psi.. but 22-25psi is good enough.

if you lower the pressure too much then the inside contact patch will curve in and you will lose that amount of rubber for grip, if you do lower them lower them to roughly 25psibut i cant imagine gaining that much. and it will depend on what kind of tire and rim.
