I am so pist 1/4 times
Just came back from the track and ran a 15.681, 15.775, and 15.779 this is in a gsr with
toda clutch
toda flywheel
b16 tranny
kazz lsd
skunk manifold
dc header
spoon exhaust
carsounds cat
itr intake valves
short ram intake
oh yea it's a 95
and the track is at sea level this is pissing me off
last year I had intake exhaust and thats it and i ran a 15.9
i think it has to do with the way i let the clutch out i think next time in 2 weeks i am going to ride the clutch off the line. i also tried reving at 3k 3.5k 4k 3k start yielded the best et the fastest time was my first run 2 fastest 2nd run slowest last
I AM SO PIST
any help on bring et's down i know search also what tire pressures sould i have and how much will that effect my et's people have told me i should atleast be in the 14's even there at the track i was hoping 14.4 mid 14's but what the hell
thanks for any help
also there is no tuning done to my car yet my next mod will be hondata s200 and some dyno time thanks

Well I think thats your problem right there. I don't think the gsr ecu is great with the skunk2 manifold. You probably need to switch vtec x-over and do some fuel tuning etc. Why don't you give us your whole slip. Like 60 foot, trap speed, etc, etc. You could just be getting a crappy launch and your car could actually be fast on the freeway.
You should be running 15.6 with a stock gsr. Are you shifting really slow?

Hm.. you definetly should be way lower. all i have is intake and exhaust and i got a 14.94 tonight... W/ those mods you should easily be in 14's. i launch around 5k, and i feather the clutch out. that sthe key. and im really quick w/ the shifts. short shifters help! and a swift lookin ITR shift ****.

i hit 15.70 in my Ls with exhaust and the track im at is 800 ft absl (not a big deal by any means).
do you drive it into the rev limiter or somethin? my friend with a 95 i/e hit 14.9 yesterday.(damn you eric aka 95teggygsr ^)
i think YOU need to practice. i dont mean this in a bad way at all. we all gotta start somewhere
good luck man

You may see some people lowering their tire pressures. DO NOT do that. Instead, inflate them to their proper pressure (I believe 35 PSI front, 32 PSI rear). Dont expect a great launch, best 60' I can ever get with street tires is ~2.3 seconds.

lower tire pressure = more traction/in^2 correct me if i'm wrong

dude.. wat the hell are you talking about? more air in the tire will make it sit taller, so it runs on the middle of the tire, instead of the whole tire. lower psi will flatten out the tire a bit, to give it a larger contact patch.

Ok, lower tire pressure means more rubber on the track...if you inflate to the propper pressure, you'll just spin off the line..because when your tires heat up, the pressure rises, thus, less rubber is putting down on the track, "thus" less traction and slower times!!!!
For your mods, YOU definately should be in the mid 14's. You basically have what i have but sound more built when it comes to the transmission part...i have 157k on my gsr, w/ basic bolt on mods....including the skunk2 IM and stock clutch and flywheel... but also if you read in my signature, I chip ecu's, so I run my custom all motor program at the track. I lowered the vtec and raised the rev limiter....especially with this skunk2 manifold, the chipped p28 rocks!!! I run 14.5's all day! If you have any questions about launching, shifting, etc, feel free to PM me
thanks
Jay

well lets start here. dont be pissed off. it could be worse. just relax, pracitce ur launching and next time u go back u will probably do better.
1. what were your 60ft times? by the looks of it they were probably in the 2.3-2.5 range. try lowering ur tire pressure or getting sticker tires (nitto 555r or bfg drag radials) 2.0-2.2 would be good!
2. try lauching at a lower rpm. any time i race my friends 95 gsr i find 2800-2900 works better for me. this is at 32psi on Kumho 711 (205/50-15)
3. dont feather/ride the clutch.. let it out and do the feathering with the throttle. dont go wide open throttle till u feel ur tires getting traction.
4. with these mods u should be pushing mid 160's at the wheels which is about the same as a stock R, plus u have a B16 tranny which almost has the same gears as an ITR. ive seen stock R pull mid 14's all day long on stock tires. so u should be at least in the high 14's.
practice some more and maybe get ur car dynoed.. maybe ur not making the power u think u are. if you are.. get some driving lessons! hehe

i did notice that when i got of the line the car bogged down I think it is in my launch on the highway i spanked a car that was running 14.3 all day. and I know i need an ecu upgrade and tuning i am also running falken azeniz ultra sport. And I have a neuspeed short shifter I will scan my slips in five mins
thanks again
thanks again
Sorry, it's really hard to read. It looks like you were getting 2.3-2.4, is this correct ? If you can drop your 60' times to 2.2 you ET should drop .2. Also, When you got your ITR intake valve installed was the valve seat modifed or was just dropped in ?

oh i am 609x
