FYI: CTR cam and Skunk2 Stage2 cam PROIFILE & PICS
Pulled my CTR cams today and putting in my Skunk2 Stage II cams.
Here's some pics just for your info.
Of course I gotta give you some specs:
Skunk2 stage 2
Intake: 12.3 mm, duration 266 @ 1mm
Exhaust: 11.8 mm, duration 262 @ 1mm
Civic Type R
Intake: 11.5mm, duration - 243 @ 1mm
Exhaust: 10.5 mm, duration - 235 @ 1mm
I hit 189whp/139tq with CTR cams. And hopefully to hit 200whp when I
get it dyno tuned again next week.
EDIT :Also note that on the Skunk2 cams, the end near the dist. on the intake
cam has engravings reads "H08 IN" and exhaust reads "H08 EX"
EDIT: Went to the dyno, here are the numbers. My peak whp with CTR is 188-189.
My peak whp with Skunk2is 207-208.

very nice, im glad you took the time to do all this. Quality posts must be useful and you did it. Very nice. I think this helps a lot of ppl shopping around for cams. Good ****,
An email reply from skunk2. apparently the "2" marking doesnt signify what stage. unless the guy i was talking to is incorrect.
info@skunk2.com: the M means they are in fact skunk cams. also another distinguishing factor is the color. thae cams are generally a gun metal color and the lobes are like a bronze/gold kind of color
Me: Thanks for replying. Are there any markings to tell which stage cams they are though?
info@skunk2.com: no they have to be measured on a cam doctor to determine what cams they are by looking at the specs...

Who's tunig your hondata?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I went to Dynospot Racing in San Jose, CA. once to tune my motor with the CTR
cams. (1 hour drive)
But I might go try Church Automotive Testing in Torrance, CA. to final tune my
motor with Skunk2 cams. (7 hours drive!
)
Links to all hondata tuners. http://www.hondata.com/contact.html
I'd only go to authorized hondata tuners WHO have a dynojet/dynopack or
who have access to a dynojet/dynopack.

I think the CTR cam Specs are incorrect. That is the popular numbers that have been floating around, but the Specs were written in a book I read that were
intake: 11.4046mm @243 @1mm ex:10.5918mm @235

i think they should make markings on the cams to signify the stage. otherwise it's easy to pass bad cams along.
They should mark them. My stage 1's had 'M' and '2' on them. I went to buy Stage 2's from someone and they had the same thing, plus my dyno numbers were pretty identical. I probably ended up with another set of stage 1's.
