Default Piston Rod Combo's for 85mm street motor...HELP!

I have a GE Sleeved LS block, and im going to be using a ITR head..

What companies shock 85mm pistons, around 12.0:1 compression, <u>WITH</u> relocated wrist pin setup??

I will be using EF-1 M24E cams so I will need to be able to rev the **** out of this thing, that's why i want/need the relocated wrist pins.

If I get JE to custom make the pistons for me, what do I ask for?? How far should they move the hole for the pin? How much longer is the rod? Does Eagle shelf a rod for pistons with relocated wrist pins? I'm planning on using the new eagle rods with the 10mm upgraded rod bolts..

eagle rods and any forged 85mm pistons will be fine. you might start to chase your tail if you get into changing rod stroke. we build ls/vtec and never had any problems making power or running fast et's. i would strongly reccomend not messing with the geometry of your motor. keep it simple. and you wont have any problems. good luck. btw we have a clean 95 ls crank for sale. pm if you havent found one yet. later.

Do you think that with stock LS geometry, the motor will be able to take high rpms?? The cams have lots of duration and i'd think they'd make power to over 9800-10,000rpms..i want to make sure the block can take it... what are the set backs of moving yur wrist pin up?? what are the cons, I've never heard of any drawbacks, i may just go with stock geometry cus I can get shelf pistons and rods..and not custom crap that takes forever to make..

So, looks like endyn has what I want, but now Im curious as to what the cons are of using longer rods and pistons with relocated wrist pins.

I would order from ImportBuilders, but to be quite honest I don't know how. They don't have a phone number, and when I email sales@importbuilders.com asking to order pistons, they never reply.. Maybe one day they will get a phone at the shop so they can make more business, i mean it's ridiculous that I want to buy pistons and rods from them, but can't seem to do it.

I'm running .137 longer Eagle rods and 13:1 pistons in my B20 vtec.I got the set up from endyn, the pistons' skirt very skinny but stable at high rpm.Just to let you know I'm very happy with the result.

I actually wanted to run Probe rods, but I only know of one place that sells them, and that place doesn't return emails or private messages thru HT (importbuilders) Jeff if you read this please send me a PM so I can get this stuff from you.

Does probe have rods that are .137 longer?? If so I will consider going with Endyn Wiseco and probe rods, or perhaps custom JE's and eagle's w/ upgraded rod bolt. Also considering Tiawanese made rods being offered by Rocket (EF1)

Probes don't come in 0.137 longer. Flatlanderrancing.com sells them if you are interested.

What would the R/S ratio be if the rod is .137 longer?

i just did this on my notepad..cut..paste.....

so the longer rods give you gsr type r/s ratio. seems minimal to me. I wonder if the wrist pin being in the oil control ring groove affects any long term reliability.

Going from 1.54 to 1.58 r/s actually makes your top end pull last longer, everything else being equal.

We have several sets of +.137" Crower billet rods on the way. They'll be lighter than the standard-issue Crowers as they're meant for NA high HP and RPM operation with our pistons.

well think of it this way! 1mm up on the pin hole 1 mm longer on the rod and so and so on and well if you had a 95 mm crank you could use your ls spec crower rods but you would have to move the pin up 3mm becuase 3mm up and 3mm down of the sroke! better rod ratio too! did I let out a secret OH well! common sense that's all! happy tuning bro! keep me posted<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by MaxBoost &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have a GE Sleeved LS block, and im going to be using a ITR head..
